Super Suppers Serves Super meals | Restaurants
For my first blog here on WTOL 11 Communities I decided to head out to Super Suppers in Perrysburg. It’s one of those places I've been meaning to try but just hadn’t gotten around to yet. It was pretty easy to find, only about a mile down the road from Levis Commons.
I think the concept is genius in offering classes, fresh made meals, frozen dishes, and even curbside pick-up. This is like an oasis for busy parents, singles who have trouble cooking a dish for just one, or even those looking for larger servings when entertaining or for larger families. I think they pretty much have something for everyone and it’s a huge plus that it is healthier than the typical drive through meal.
Super Suppers is a place where you can go to take an instructor lead class on how to prepare a specific dish or you can choose a frozen entrée, side dishes and even desserts that are ready to take home and pop in the oven. You can stop in and prepare your own meal fresh from their entrée bars so that you get the ingredients you like and want in your dish if you prefer. They even have a monthly membership and punch card options to save a little money.
They have classes for both children and adults. They also do private parties, events and a list of other things. They even offer gluten-free dishes for people with allergies and are even able to create dishes with regard to certain allergies (such as wheat, etc.). If you have a concern such as allergies you can contact them and they will work with you on making the dish specific to your needs. There is just too much to list here in regard to all they offer and not miss something as they have a so many services to offer.
When I arrived the staff was very warm and welcoming. I would like to thank Ann for her hospitality. You don’t get service like this too often nowadays and it was a very refreshing change. She was very informative, showing me around and explaining how everything worked.
I chose to pick up an entrée of chicken enchiladas, some cheesy bread and chocolate chunk scones. It was a toss-up between the lasagna and the enchiladas because I was in the mood for something spicy, but in the end enchiladas won out. I decided to take home the frozen dishes to cook later.
The food came with easy to understand instruction on how to prepare each dish. Once they were cooked it was in a word “delicious.” The enchiladas were like those you would find in a more upscale restaurant (fast food joints are no competition). They were spicy but not overpowering, just right for my palate, cheesy with big chunks of chicken, and the sauce was very good as well. I would definitely buy them again. I cooked one of the scones for dessert and it was melt-in-your-mouth delicious! It was almost like a cookie but not quite as sweet. My daughter is going to want to eat one of these every day.
For a snack with an evening movie we tried the cheesy bread which was again, delicious. It is not the typical cheesy bread that you get at a pizza place. It is plain on the outside but filled with mozzarella in the middle. Each bite was filled with gooey melted cheese; and is a favorite for the kids now. They also keep the butter on the side for anyone not wanting it on the bread along with a side of marinara sauce for dipping.
In all I was out the door for just over $30.00, not bad considering it is more than enough to feed 3 to 4 people with enough scones left for a few more meals too. I just threw in a fresh salad on the side and dinner was ready in an hour.
My only regret is that I didn’t try Super Suppers sooner. For any of you who have been waiting to try Super Suppers, like I did, I would say go, experience and enjoy! You will not be disappointed.
You can visit their website (ssperrysburg.com) to learn more about their services and all they have to offer. Sorry if I left anything out Ann. Also, if you don’t find what you are looking for give them a call or drop in. I’m sure they will be more than happy to help you.
Ann thanks again for the making my first visit to Super Suppers so enjoyable. I will be back to try the lasagna soon.
Till then, keep doing what you’re doing, cause you got it right!
