Students learn dangers of texting and driving through simulator | Events
PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) - College and high school students learned the dangers of texting while driving first hand Tuesday at Owens Community College.
Students had the opportunity to use a virtual reality simulator designed to illustrate those dangers. Students were asked to navigate a roadway while reading and responding to text messages.
The students were then asked to sign a pledge not to text message while driving. The program was presented by the Save a Life Tour.
The organization behind the tour also offers a smart phone application which will respond saying the user is behind the wheel to any text message received while it is enabled.
